Lokayukta police arrest three
BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police arrested a village accountant of Devanahalli taluk while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 for change of khata.
According to a Lokayukta press release, village accountant B. Shivanna demanded money from Sampath, a factory worker, who lodged a complaint. The Lokayukta police arrested Shivanna and produced before the jurisdictional court.
In another case, the Bagalkot Lokayukta police arrested G. Ratnamala Chief Accounts Officer, and Drappa Chennabasappa Yogikoppada, First Division Accounts Assistant, attached to the land acquisition office, Upper Krishna Project, on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs. 3,000 for releasing compensation of Rs. 15 lakhs to seven persons.
