Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: Some 3,743 more Anganwadi centres have been sanctioned under the Integrated Child Development Scheme to Kerala. According to the office of the Minister for Health and Social Welfare, the district- wise break-up of the centres are as follows: Thiruvananthapuram 520, Kollam 254, Alappuzha 206, Pathanamthitta 112, Kottayam 113, Idukki 101, Ernakulam 562, Thrissur 356, Palakkad 412, Malappuram 379, Kozhikode 326, Wayanad 46, Kannur 325 and Kasaragod 31. The new centres have been sanctioned to places which do not have them based on the principle of one centre for every 1,000 population. — Special Correspondent
