THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Senior Citizens’ Friends Welfare Association (SCFWA) has appealed to the State Government to implement the policy for the aged announced by it on December 5 last. In a statement here, association president and former Mayor J. Chandra and general secretary Amaravila Ramakrishnan Nair alleged that the policy still remained in paper even after seven months of its announcement. The association demanded that senior citizens be given identity card from the senior citizens welfare fund. The association also demanded that senior citizens should be given 50 per cent travel concessions and 10 per cent seats in the public transport vehicles.
