Cusat to have fast-track system for theses evaluation

KOCHI: A meeting of the academic council of the Cochin University of Science and Technology here on Saturday approved a proposal for introducing a fast-track system for evaluation of Ph.D. theses submitted on the campus.

The council accepted a suggestion for submitting the theses online. Candidates can seek clearance from their guide digitally. The move comes in the wake of complaints lodged by students that the entire process is getting delayed.

The meeting approved a proposal for introducing yoga in the academic stream. It was decided to create faculty posts for B.Tech. courses in aerospace engineering and aircraft maintenance and manufacturing to be launched in 2008.

The council ratified the syllabus for MBA travel and tourism and M.Sc. nanoscience courses.
