Stray dogs kill 28 goats

KARAIKAL: As many as 28 goats out of the 300 kept in a cattle shed at Thalatheru here in the Union Territory of Puducherry were killed and 18 other goats injured when a pack of rabid dogs went on a biting spree in the shed in the early hours of Friday. The injured goats were being treated at the veterinary hospital at Kottucherry. According to shepherds, goats were being killed by stray and rabid dogs in various parts of the district regularly. They appealed to the municipality to take steps to catch all the stray dogs in Karaikal.
