Jeeps for flying squads

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday handed over jeeps for special tahsildars of the flying squads set up by the Government to curb smuggling of essential commodities supplied through the Public Distribution System in 16 districts. An official release here said the jeeps, purchased at a total cost of Rs.68,84,816, were handed over to the special tahsildars at a function at the Secretariat here.
