Asian Christian faculty meet

KOCHI: Union Christian College at Aluva will host the Indian chapter conference of the Asian Christian Faculty Fellowship on the theme ‘relevant Christian presence in colleges and universities today’ here on August 6 and 7.

The conference is being sponsored by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA). As many as 50 faculty members of colleges from different parts of the country will attend, Varughese John, Principal, said. Patricia Stranahan (U.S., president of UBCHEA), Betty Cernol (Hong Kong, associate vice-president for programmes, UBCHEA); Scaria Zacharia (formerly of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady); Paul Appasamy (Madras School of Economics), and Thomas John (former Head, Department of Psychology, U C College, Aluva) will speak at different sessions.

The main venue of the conference is ‘AELI hills’ located near the School for the Blind at Aluva.
