BANGALORE: A car driver was hacked to death in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits on Thursday night. The police gave his name as G. Shashidhar (25), a resident of Laggere. He was working as a driver with a travel agency. Around 10.30 p.m. Shashidar’s brother Jayanth, who runs a public call office at Bovipalya in Mahalakshmi Layout, was informed that his brother had been murdered near a wine store on 1st Main Road, Bovipalya. On reaching the spot, Jayanth saw his brother lying dead in a pool of blood. The assailants had attacked him with swords on the head, chest, back and arms, the police said. Three persons, including a baby girl, were killed in as many road accidents in the city on Friday. Three-year-old Bharathi was killed on the spot, when a goods autorickshaw knocked her down on 9th Main, RPC Layout around 1.45 p.m. The Vijayanagar traffic police have registered a case. Muniyappa (57), a pedestrian, suffered serious injuries when a scooter hit him on New BEL Road around 10.45 a.m. He died at a hospital in the night, the police said. The R.T. Nagar traffic police have registered a case. In the other incident reported from Kanakapura Road, Bala Nayak (31) was killed when a KSRTC bus rammed a motorcycle on which he was riding pillion near the Banashankari temple. Knocked down
Srivatsava (27), the son of retired Corps of Detective (CoD) Superintendent of Police Raghavendra, died on the spot in Vasanthnagar after he was knocked down by a crane. According to police, the victim, a resident of Banashankari, had stopped his motorcycle and was crossing the road to get a cigarette from a shop on the other side of the road when the accident happened.
