BANGALORE: The East Division police arrested Sukanth Nayak (30) on charges of theft and recovered from him gold, diamond and silver jewellery and electronic goods, all worth Rs. 25 lakh. The police said Sukanth, a native of Orissa, had stolen the valuables from the house of Ravi Arora in Defence Colony on the night of July 15. The police said Sukanth had earlier worked at Mr. Arora’s house. When the Aroras were away, Sukanth and his brother-in-law, Shanthanu, entered the Defence Colony house by breaking the doors of the balcony and made away with the valuables. While Sukanth was trying to flee the city on Friday night, the Byappanahalli inspector, Sridhar, and his staff arrested him at the Bayappanahalli Railway station and recovered the jewels and electronic gadgets from him, the police said.
