Golf course to be set up in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: The Centre has agreed to fund the proposed golf course at Manapet, about 15 km from here, according to Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao. The Centre recently gave its approval for the project and would extend Rs.30 to Rs.50 crore for the project, the Minister told reporters on Saturday. The territorial administration was in the process of acquiring about 35 hectares of land for establishing the golf course. The Government also proposed to establish a water theme park at an estimated cost of Rs.3 crore at Ariankuppam. The beach beautification work would commence very shortly, the Minister added
