Disquiet over death of fish

BERHAMPUR: The danger of urban pollution came to the fore with the sudden death of 20 quintals of fish at Dolabandha, a large reservoir at the heart of Paralakhemundi, the district headquarters town of Gajapati district.

On Saturday the inhabitants suddenly noticed dead fish floating. It was a shock for fishermen families who take it on lease from the municipality to use it for pisciculture. It was alleged that miscreants might have poisoned the water to kill fish. The police denied the charge.
