BANGALORE: Air Deccan will celebrate the 60th Independence Day by offering one lakh tickets at Rs. 60 (plus taxes). The tickets will be available for travel from August 20 to September 30 across all sectors. Bookings will open early on the morning of August 5 and will close after 72 hours on August 7. The offer is part of the month-long Independence celebrations at Air Deccan, said a release. Air Deccan CEO, Ramki Sundaram said, “Air Deccan joins the nation’s spirit to commemorate and celebrate the occasion by providing tickets at Rs.60 (plus taxes).” He further added, “Much has changed in the aviation industry since Independence, with only state-run carriers as an option for air travel, today, in a span of few years, Indians have umpteen number of options to choose. With the launch of Air Deccan four years ago, more and more Indians have been able to upgrade their mode of travel from buses and trains to air travel. Air Deccan has been able to successfully break the cost barrier and provided the common man freedom to fly.”
