KOCHI: The Kerala Management Association (KMA) is celebrating its golden jubilee this year. P. Ravindranath, director, MAA Communications Bozell Ltd., has been elected president of the association and K.N. Shastry, chief executive officer, New Allied Tours & Travels, secretary for 2007-08.

K.K. Jayan, deputy general manager (learning and development), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Kochi Refinery, and S. Jayathilakan, executive director, Vijaya Ele-Techs (P) Ltd., are the two vice-presidents.

S. Gopakumar, head (manufacturing), Apollo Tyres Ltd., and V. Sathyanarayanan, senior partner, Varma & Varma, chartered accountants, are joint secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Sunil K. Zachariah, managing director, Futuruistic Consultants, will be in the managing committee as immediate past president, says a press release.

Other elected members of the committee are: George Varghese, managing director, FCI OEN Connectors Ltd.; V.R. Nair; S. Rajmohan Nair, development officer, LIC; K. Antony Sebastian, deputy general manager, V-Guard Industries Private Ltd.; M. Kumara Raja, secretary, Coir Board; S.R. Nair, managing director, Team Frontline Ltd.; O.T.S. Nambiar, joint director (marketing), Spices Board; P. Premchand, general manager (corporate human resources development), Sud-Chemie India Ltd.; K. Rajan George, marketing consultant; and Saju K. Abraham, Saju & Co., Chartered Accountants.

The association is one of the oldest and largest management associations in the country, with nearly 1,500 members. It was among the management associations which were instrumental in forming AIMA.
