RAMANATHAPURAM: More awareness must be created to provide quality education to all Muslim women, according to M.K.M. Mohammed Hasan, treasurer, All India Islam Foundation.
Presiding over the third Islamic women’s awareness conference organised by Sharjah Islamia Madaras Association (SIMAN) and the Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women at Kilakarai on Sunday, he said the percentage of Muslim women’s education had seen gradual improvement over the years.
Several Muslim educational trusts had set up educational institutions particularly girls.
However, Mr. Hasan said that organisations, which were working for the development of Muslim women, should strive hard to create an awareness of education, cultural values and social harmony among the people, particularly rural women.
K. Hasan Ali, MLA, Ramanathapuram constituency, who received a book released by Sherifa Azeez, Correspondent, Cresent Women’s Educational Institutions, said that enough awareness should be created of core values of Islam. Concerted efforts should be made to improve the overall literacy rate of Muslim women.
