dated August 7, 1957: Thiagaraja Samadhi

Special aradhana and abhishekam were held on August 4 at Sri Thiagarajaswami Samadhi at Tiruvayar in the presence of a large gathering of devotees to mark the installation of 20 more marble slabs on the walls of the shrine, on which 70 more compositions of the saint are inscribed. By November 1956, thirtysix marble slabs carrying 120 compositions of the saint had been installed. Room for 25 more slabs remains. The organisers, Messrs. T.S. Parthasarathy and Sundaram Aiyar, stated that contributions are welcome from devotees at Rs. 140 for each slab capable of carrying four kritis of Sri Thiagaraja.
