Bandh peaceful

KOLKATA: A 12-hour bandh was observed by the CPI(Marxist) in the troubled Nandigram and adjoining Khejuri areas of West Bengal’s Purbo Medinipur district on Monday. The situation was peaceful.

The bandh was called in protest against the death of two CPI(M) supporters in clashes between party workers and activists of the Trinamool-backed Bhoomi Ucched Pratirodh Committee.
