New Delhi
THIS FOR ``TALK OF THE TOWN” WITHOUT PICTURE. Waiting at the Delhi airport for flights to take off would perhaps be a little less tiresome for passengers now as they would soon get to munch on McDonald’s McAloo tikki burgers and French fries. After Balaji Express, Nirula’s, Yo China and Café Coffee Day, it is the turn of the fast food giant McDonald’s to serve passengers at the airport. Delhi International Airport (P) Limited (DIAL) has decided to open a McDonald’s outlet at Terminal 1-A – which has Indian and Kingfisher Airlines flying out – by this month-end. Food at reasonable prices
“We are catering to all kinds of passengers. Earlier there were little options for people to eat at the airport with everything being so expensive. We decided to start a number of food and beverage joints where things will be served at reasonable prices,” said a DIAL spokesperson. DIAL will also open more outlets of Baskin-Robbins at various terminals aimed at attracting the younger lot of passengers at the airport. Increase in Nescafe kiosks
There will also be an increase in the number of Nescafe kiosks offering tea, coffee, cold drinks and flavoured milk all across and outside Terminals 1-A, 1-B, 1-C and Terminal II. “Usually there are quite a number of people who tend to accompany those leaving or arriving at the airport. The kiosks will serve these people. We will add more outlets especially outside the International terminal as the number of people who come to see off or receive someone is usually more,” said the spokesperson. Parul Sharma
