HUDA to developPanchkula, Mansa Devi Complex

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) would spend Rs.80.93 crore on executing various developmental works in different sectors of Panchkula and Mansa Devi Complex during the current financial year, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here on Tuesday.

Presiding over a meeting with senior HUDA officials, Mr. Chander Mohan said HUDA had approved Rs.10.65 crore for providing water supply, sewerage, storm water drainage and roads to the residents of Sector 6, Mansa Devi Complex, Panchkula and Rs.2.48 crore on ongoing developmental works in Sector 2, MDC, Panchkula.

He said 2,072 multi-storey houses would be constructed for slum dwellers by November 2008 at a cost of Rs.45.4 crore while Rs.3.5 crore would be spent on construction of a synthetic track in the Sports Complex at Panchkula. Another Rs.3.48 crore would be spent on construction of 60-metre-wide roads between Sectors 1 and 4, Sectors 1 and 3 and Sectors 1 and 2 and this work would be completed by June 2008.

Mr. Chander Mohan disclosed that Rs.2.65 crore would be spent on channelising, beautification of storm water drainage and nullah of foothills near Sector 4, Mansa Devi Complex, Panchkula and the work would be completed by the end of this year.

He said a park would be developed in Sector 1 of Mansa Devi Complex at a cost of Rs.2.68 crore by February 2008.
