Hunt on for Mary’s husband

HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday issued a look-out notice against Ch. Ravindranath, a resident of Keshavanagar in New Mettuguda, in connection with a case pertaining to bogus insurance claims from an insurance company.

The investigating agency has also announced a reward of Rs 25,000 to anyone passing on any information about him. Mr. Ravindranath, is the husband of Mary Ravindranath, former Chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission.

A CBI press release on Wednesday said information could be passed on to the CBI Superintendent of Police at his office in Kendriya Sadan at Sultan Bazaar or on phone numbers: 040- 24732762, 24732763, 24732764 and 24732768.

Case registered

Mr. Ravindranath (54), was stated to be absconding after a fraud pertaining to bogus insurance claims from Secunderabad branch of the National Insurance Company, which came to light in 2003.

A case under Section 420 IPC and criminal conspiracy under Section 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code were registered against him and his associates.

The matter is under trial with the Special Court for CBI cases, Nampally.

Non-bailable warrant

“The court issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him as he had failed to appear in the court. Based on court’s directions, we have issued a look-out notice,” a senior official said.

In a separate case, the investigating agency also launched a hunt to nab N. Venkata Parvati Nanda Kishore for his involvement in a cheating case.
