The owner has to submit a DD, copies of existing plan Regularisation of third floor not permissible
NEW DELHI: Residents of unauthorised multi-storey apartments here in the Capital can finally breathe easy. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has announced a new scheme for floor-wise regularisation of unauthorised residential buildings in accordance with the Master Plan for Delhi-2021. The civic body has also launched a “self-assessment” scheme under which owners can themselves calculate the amount owed to the MCD according to the Master Plan-2021 Floor Area Ratio (FAR) rates. To apply for regularisation, the owner has to submit a demand draft of the payable amount, two copies of the existing sanction plan, and a copy each of the structural stability certificate and the ownership permit. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, MCD Standing Committee chairman Vijender Gupta said: “Escalating property costs induce people to buy flats. There are several such dwelling units where floors have been sold to different people. Now these floor owners can pay the prescribed fee and get their flats authorised.” Mr. Gupta said until now it had not been possible to regularise all the floors in such multi-storey apartments because regularisation charges were calculated and payable for the entire building as a whole. Additionally, several owners were unwilling to deposit the regularisation fee. MCD Standing Committee deputy chairman Yogender Chandolia said the civic body had launched this scheme in the light of “serious difficulties” that residents of multi-storey buildings were facing in getting regularisation. However, regularisation of the third floor was not permissible as the matter is still under consideration in the Supreme Court, he added.
