Professor’s appeal dismissed

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday dismissed an appeal by B.C. Mylarappa Professor of Sociology, Bangalore University.

He had challenged a single-judge order quashing his appointment as professor and directing the university to advertise for a new candidate.

The single judge had imposed costs of Rs. 1,250 each on Mr. Mylarappa and the university.

Prof. Mylarappa had filed a writ appeal against the single-judge order.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Justice Rammohan Reddy upheld the order and dismissed the appeal. — Staff Reporter
