TRS’ attitude sparks protest

KURNOOL: The supporters of Rayalaseema Hakkula Ikya Vedika and members of non-gazetted officers association staged a demonstration to protest against the “intolerant attitude” of Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) here on Saturday. The protesters took out a rally and held up traffic for some time at Rajvihar Centre and burnt the effigy of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Slogans raised

They raised slogans against KCR and the TRS. The leaders said said Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao was fomenting trouble by instigating his party men to stage demonstration before the factories owned by non-Telangana people in and around Hyderabad. They termed it as height of intolerance and said the TRS leadership was trying to create ill feelings among the people of different regions to achieve their political objectives.

Consequences

In the long run, this kind of attitude of Telangana Rashtra Samithi would leaders would lead to a major unrest in the state, they said. They urged the Government not buckle under the pressure of TRS to implement GO 610. The protestors added that the party wanted to drive out the non-Telangana people completely in the name of the GO.

The Ikya Vedika leaders said they would intensify the agitation to counter the violent attitude of the TRS. Ikya Vedika president T.G. Venkatesh was away from the demonstration.
