KADAPA: A Chinese Government agency will prepare the design as well as execute technical works in Bramhani Industries Limited, an integrated steel plant to come up with an outlay of Rs. 25,000 crore at Ambavaram in Jammalamadugu constituency in Kadapa district, its promoter and MLC Gali Janardhana Reddy said on Tuesday. The steel plant for which Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy performed ‘bhoomi puja’ on June 10 will come up in such a manner that Kadapa district and the steel plant would draw global attention, Mr. Janardhana Reddy said at a press conference on the plant site. The plant will be a boon for the region, he added. The company is constructing a compound wall encasing the plant site, roads and other civil works briskly, he said. Hundred quarters were being constructed for factory employees. Production of the plant’s first phase will commence on completion of the works in 20 months, Mr. Janardhana Reddy said. Besides a commercial airport, a hangar for repairing aeroplanes will also be constructed in 4,000 acres of land allotted to BIL, he announced. He urged the Roads & Buildings Executive Engineer Ramamohana Reddy to prepare the ground for laying a four-lane road from the plant’s main gate. Compensation
When newsmen pointed out that villagers of Pati and Chitimutichinthala will suffer by foregoing their lands and properties on account of the steel plant, he maintained that he would not cause loss to anybody and assured them compensation and their rehabilitation soon.
