Postal department to launch anywhere banking

VIJAYAWADA: By the end of this year, customers of the Department of Posts will have the facility of accessing ‘core postal services’. The department is gearing up to provide the facility of ‘anywhere banking’ to the customers of its various savings schemes. The concept has been developed on the lines of core banking solution that most of the commercial banks in the country are now offering.

Interestingly, a city-based team of the department is in the process of developing the required software for the project.
