Health hazard: Garbage dumped in a residential area in Visakhapatnam.

VISAKHAPATNAM: With the onset of the rainy season, the dumping of garbage in the culvert close to Aqua Sports Complex on the Beach Road has become a major health concern for the inhabitants of the Pandurangapuram area.

The water channel is right next to the Golden Gate apartments on the R.K. Beach Road and emanates a foul smell owing to the regular misuse by street vendors, the washer men staying nearby and some residents in the nearby apartments.

The drain is clogged for several months now. An epidemic is waiting to break any time in the area.

Though the residents of Golden Gate apartments have been crying hoarse over the dumping of garbage in the culvert and complained to the GVMC several times, nothing has been done so far.

In fact, the GVMC has put some construction material in front of the apartments where more garbage has started piling up.

In the midst of the tourist place like Beach Road, an ugly sight awaits the visitors.
