Dubai: The Kerala Government’s Department of Non-Resident Keralites’ Affairs (NoRKA) will provide free air tickets to the poor amnesty-seekers in an arrangement with various Malayali associations operating in Abu Dhabi. Priority would be given to Malayali people. Some leading businessmen and organisations in Abu Dhabi have agreed to sponsor the tickets, General Manager, NoRKA-ROOTS, S.M. Najeeb, who is in the UAE on a special amnesty-related mission, said. “A committee under the chairmanship of Anzar Chirayinkeezhu, president of Abu Dhabi Malayalee Samajam, along with other associations, will scrutinise and identify the beneficiaries,” he was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times. Mr. Najeeb said Keralites living in the other emirates could also approach the association for free tickets. The association would decide the departure destination later but it would seek Air-India’s services, he added. Business school
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from Kerala have decided to set up a world-class business school in the State’s commercial capital Kochi. The International Business School (IBS-Kochi) will be established in partnership with the Management Centre Inssbruck, Austria. The institute will offer an 18-month MBA programme, especially designed to produce graduates who are commercially astute, socially responsible and international in outlook, Birla Public School chairman Mohan Thomas, who along with Prof. Jay Kandampully, promotes the joint venture, has said. IBS-Kochi will nurture management education and research in India, Mr. Thomas has said. – PTI
