Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The city’s cartoon lovers may rejoice. The Indian Institute of Cartoonists is all set to launch a permanent cartoon display space called the Indian Cartoon Gallery at Midford Garden, off M.G. Road on August 16. Governor T.N. Chaturvedi will formally inaugurate the gallery.
Setting the pace for cartoons to jump to life, the gallery will begin with a three-month long exhibition, featuring cartoons by the late B.V. Ramamurthy, Kannada Prabha cartoonist V.G. Narendra and freelance cartoonist B.G. Gujjarappa.
After the inaugural three-month show, the gallery will be thrown open to selected cartoonists to display their prowess in art and funny lines.
The institute’s board of trustees include renowned cartoonist Mario De Miranda, Ashok Kheny from NICE, Narendra, Gujjarappa and B.N. Chandrakanth.
