The garbage can be used as a raw material for bio-manure. FACT being a leading fertilizer unit, can think of an idea where by the dumping site can be converted into a unit producing bio-manure making use of the garbage arriving from the corporation. If such a plan materialises, FACT can deploy a section of surplus staff to the bio-manure plant. FACT should conduct a feasibility study and prepare a project to get Central nod. The State Government and Kochi Corporation should allocate necessary funds for preparing infrastructure for such a unit. If it materialises, the Brahmapuram treatment plant can be abandoned. V.P. Ramesan, Thripunithura Pathway sought along Petta bridge It is regrettable that authorities are indifferent as regards to the long-pending demand for a pathway for pedestrians along the busy Petta bridge. People find it difficult to cross the bridge during day time for want of a walkway. Several social organisations have come out in support for the demand. Hope authorities will look into the matter.
