Ex-cops attacked by HIV-infected inmates

NEW DELHI: Two dismissed Delhi Police constables who were arrested on charges of killing two men in a fake encounter at Timarpur here last year were attacked by three HIV-infected inmates at Delhi’s Tihar Central Jail premises in the early hours of Tuesday.

The dismissed constables, Suraj Pal and Ravinder, were attacked by the three inmates with nails around 6 a.m. The jail authorities said the two sustained minor injuries. The attackers are HIV-infected. The jail officials claimed the attacked escaped with superficial injuries.
