GUWAHATI: Three persons were killed and 14 others, including five police personnel, were injured in two bomb blasts that rocked upper Assam’s Jorhat town and Ganeshguri area of Guwahati on Monday night. Three persons were killed and 12 injured in a powerful blast, suspected to have been triggered by the United Liberation Front of Asom in Jorhat town. The blast occurred in front of Jorhat police station. Two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, two constables and a home guard were injured. Police suspected that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device strapped to a bicycle. The deceased have been identified as Pranjal Gogoi, Ajit Bora and Debojit Bora. Two persons sustained injuries in the second blast at Ganeshguri here. A vehicle kept parked near the site was damaged under the impact of the blast.
