PUDUCHERRY: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Chennai, along with Pondicherry University, will be organising a recruitment drive for B.Sc Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics, BCA and Diploma in Computer Technology, IT, EEE and ECE graduates who passed out in 2007 to pursue a career in software programming. According to a press release from the university, the recruitment will be held on August 20. Students who have passed out from colleges in and around Puducherry, Karaikal, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Cuddalore and Chengalpattu can make use of this opportunity to find jobs. Those who passed out in May to June 2007 with a minimum of 60 percent marks in their X, XII and degree or diploma courses with the above specialisations are eligible to apply. According to S.K.V. Jayakumar, placement co-coordinator, Pondicherry University, the recruitment drive is aimed at adding a new talent pool to the TCS workforce. TCS has termed the program ‘a transformation from science to software’. An aptitude test, a group discussion and personal interview will form part of the selection process. Eligible candidates may collect their hall tickets before August 14 from the placement cell of Sri Manakula Vinayakar Engineering College on payment (non-refundable) of Rs. 100 as registration fee.
