Dharampura is the first village in the State to get domestic connections Power being supplied through High Voltage Distribution System
CHANDIGARH: Dharampura in Kaithal district is the first village in Haryana where all the households now have authorised domestic connections after the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam recently started supplying power through High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS). An official spokesman said here on Wednesday that the Nigam had installed nine new transformers of 25 KVA capacity and after completion of the HVDS, 150 new domestic connections had been released by the Nigam in open darbars and by constant persuasion in Dharampura. Earlier, Shergarh village of Kaithal district had the distinction of becoming the first HVDS village of the State. The spokesman said the Nigam had completed the HVDS or Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) works in Bhanpura and Deodkheri villages. After the erection of the new system in these villages, 130 and 90 applicants, respectively, had applied for new domestic connections. Moreover, 164 domestic connections had been released in Guhana, 98 in Budhakhera, 41 in Dillonwali and 40 in Jagdishpura. The spokesman disclosed that the demand for erection of the HVDS and LVDS systems had been increasing as it led to less outages and improvement in voltage.
