Gearing up: A scene from ‘Hingadre.Comedy’ which will be staged for the first time in Hubli during ‘MTR Ranga Sambhrama’.
HUBLI: “MTR Ranga Sambhrama” is back in the city after a gap of almost a year. This time it has an added attraction — a new play, “Hingadre.Comedy”, directed by playwright Yashwant Sardeshpande. The first show of the comedy play, which has a plot revolving around “Kauravas fighting for the truth”, will be staged at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubli on August 15, Mr. Sardeshpande, who is also the founder of Guru Samsthe, told presspersons here on Wednesday. He said apart from the new play, comedies such as “Sahi Ri Sahi”, “Rashi Chakra” and “All The Best” would be staged. Mr. Sardeshpande said that D.S. Karki Sahitya Vedike had joined hands with his theatre association this year and was bringing out the play “Sahi Ri Sahi” in a book form. Secretary of the vedike Subramanya said the book release would mark the silver jubilee of Mr. Sardeshpande’s theatre career. The programme was being organised with the concept “Health humour and healthy food”, he said. In Hubli, the programme will be held from August 15 to 19. For tickets contact Mr. Subramanya Ph: 9448110034.
