Appeal to small scale units

CHENNAI: The office of the Commissioner of Central Excise has urged small scale units to file their declaration for this year immediately with the jurisdictional Central Excise officer to avoid penal action.

A statement issued here by Commissioner P.K. Jain on Wednesday said small scale units manufacturing either exempted goods or enjoying exemption with a turnover of Rs. 90 lakh [but less than Rs 1.5 crore] had to file a simple declaration every year, mentioning details of turnover.
