BANGALORE: The Karnataka Government has postponed the Vishwa Kannada Sammelan scheduled to be held in Belgaum in September. The decision was taken following directions by the Karnataka High Court to the State Election Commission to hold elections in the last week of next month.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Minister for Kannada and Culture H.S. Mahadeva Prasad said the conference had been postponed in view of the High Court directive to the State Election Commission to hold elections in September-end. The conference dates would be finalised after consultation with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, he said.
