HYDERABAD: All-India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Digvijay Singh has said communalism and increasing social disparities on account of implementation of economic reforms are challenges before the Congress.
Participating in the ‘Quit India’ Day celebrations of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) here on Wednesday, Mr. Singh said the Congress was determined to face the challenges.
The student community was the hope of the nation.
Mr. Singh stressed the contribution of Gandhi-Nehru family in nation building and said the foundation for economic growth was laid by Jawaharlal Nehru.
APCC president K. Keshava Rao was present and NSUI State president Ch. Vamshichand Reddy presided over the function. School students staged a drama on freedom struggle.
