Kerala
Setting an example
Private buses in the city went off the road a fortnight ago demanding repair of roads. But that was no solution. Like every hartal or bandh, it too went down as
a protest causing inconvenience to the general public. The Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry has taken the lead in finding a solution.
The chamber, in association with the police and other authorities, have started filling the potholes on certain stretches having high traffic density.
As an emulative model of private participation in public work, it should hopefully encourage other private entities to follow suit.
