Chakki bridge destroyed in rains

Nurpur (H.P.): Around 100 metres of the Chakki bridge on the Pathankot-Mandi National Highway in Kangra district, connecting Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, has been washed away in heavy rains, officials said on Thursday.

Six pillars and seven spans on the Punjab side of the bridge has been washed away on Wednesday night, Satpal Sharma, assistant engineer of National Highway-20 in Nurpur sub-division said.
