Land dispute leads to murder in Dubulunda

BERHAMPUR: Land dispute led to the death of one person in Dubulunda village under the Gangapur police station limits.

There was bad blood between Bansidhar Jena and Prabhakar Swain for over an year on the issue. On Tuesday last, there was an altercation between them. That night, Prabhakar went to Bansidhar and urged him to forget the past and befriend him. Later, they consumed liquor.

After returning home, Bansidhar fell unconscious but not before charging Prabhakar with poisoning him. He later died at Bhanjanagar hospital. Later, Prabhakar, too, got himself admitted to hospital after complaining about some ailment, which he attributed to the ‘spurious liquor’ he had consumed with Bhansidhar.

On Wednesday night, Ganjam SP R.K. Sharma sensed something fishy as Prabhakar, who seemed to be in a state of coma, was, in fact, talking to some of his associates when policemen were not near him. He ordered the arrest of Prabhakar.
