Stir in support of quota for minorities

VILLUPURAM: The police on Thursday arrested about 500 activists of the All India Youth Federation, including 150 women, who staged demonstrations in front of Indian Bank and State Bank of India branches at seven places across the district, seeking reservation for the Muslims and Christians in education and employment. They agitated in front of the bank branches located at Villupuram, Ginjee, Thirukkoilur, Thiruvennainallur, Moongilthuraipattu, Manalurpettai and Kottakuppam. — Special Correspondent
