Panchayat women chiefs’ meet

BANGALORE: A one-day convention of women presiding and deputy presiding officers of panchayats will be held in Bangalore on August 13 wherein the participants will put forth various long-pending demands concerning women before the Government.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Karnataka Panchayat Parishat’s Women’s Wing President Magadi Kamalamma said that more than 3,000 delegates are expected to participate in the convention, scheduled to be inaugurated by Union Minister for Panchayat Raj Mani Shankar Aiyar.

The convention will be held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan, Vasanthanagar, in Bangalore.
