NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council has released the accrual-based financial statement for 2004-05 and organised a workshop on accounting reforms.

Delhi Urban Development Minister A. K. Walia released the statement in the presence of NDMC Chairman Parimal Rai over the weekend. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rai described the final switch to accrual-based accounting as an important event: “the result of a sustained effort to move towards greater transparency and a modern and accurate method of accounting.”
