Supplyco plans special bazaars

KOCHI: The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) will open special Onam bazaars that will sell 29 varieties of vegetables, including bananas.

As many as 145 special people’s bazaars and fairs would be opened between August 22 and 26, said a press release here on Thursday.

The corporation has targeted a sale of about 1,000 tonnes of bananas and 1,000 tonnes of vegetables during the period.

Peoples’ Metro Bazaars were opened on August 5 on Vaikom Mohmammed Basheer Road in Kozhikode, on August 9 at Thekkinkadu Maidan in Thrissur. Another bazaar will be opened at the Puthirikandam Maidan in the State capital on Friday. Similar bazaars will be opened in Kottayam and Ernakulam on August 13 at the Supplyco Ground and Durbar Hall ground respectively.

Onam special fairs will be opened in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Thodupuzha, Alappuzha, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur, Kalpetta, Kasaragod and Thripunithura on August 17.
