Railway employees to stage dharnas

VISAKHAPATNAM: Members of the Waltair division of the East Coast Railway Shramik Union (ECoRSU) will hold dharnas at Jagadalpur (on August13), Kirandul (August14), Koraput (August16) and Araku (August 17) railway stations to highlight the long pending demands of the employees in general and particularly those serving in the Kirandul-Kothavalasa line.

ECoRSU divisional coordinator D. Shaleel said the demands include scrapping of the new pension scheme, early finalisation of sixth pay commission report and grant of interim relief, regular supply of drinking water and electricity and maintenance of railway quarters, filling up of all group “C” and “D” vacancies in KK line, and allowing change of category from the Engineering Department to other departments.
