Anti-liquor stir: Lok Satta discusses action plan

TIRUPATI: At a roundtable organised here on Thursday, the Chittoor district unit of the Lok Satta Party discussed the action plan to be followed vis-a-vis its statewide campaign against liquor belt-shops.
Besides party functionaries, representatives of various NGOs also participated in the meet presided over by T. Janardhan Naidu, district convener.
He explained the objectives of the campaign against belt-shops which he said were playing havoc with lives and economy of the rural people. District secretary P. Krishnaiah traced the ordeals being faced by the womenfolk in the countryside in the wake of the mushrooming of belt-shops. He cited how Anepalle village in the Warangal district reportedly accounted for 120 liquor-related deaths in span of just one year. District Lok Satta Party leader G. Malyadri spoke.
