TKM to partner with 20 ITIs

BANGALORE: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will partner with 20 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to enhance the skills and employability of the institute students.

According to a company press release, the initiative called “Toyota Technical Education Programme” would provide special training module that helps the ITIs develop skilled technicians for the automobile industry. “We believe that the partnership with the technical institutes will enhance the technical prowess of the students and a macro level will benefit the Indian auto industry,” said managing director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Atsushi Toyoshima.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has so far partnered with four technical training institutes in the first phase of the programme. It will add six more ITIs this year. The company will associate with 20 technical institutes across the country by 2010 and will be investing about Rs. 60 million, the release adds.
