Woes of the hapless motorist

The Vellayamabalam-Thycaud stretch was once among the best laid roads in the city; it was a dream for motorists to breeze along the road.

Now the road is full of potholes and driving, a spine-rattling venture.

The powers that be seem oblivious to the ‘speed breakers’ that somehow keep multiplying at regular intervals.

Most of the potholes do not appear to be the result of any digging that was done on that section of the road.

The tar and metal seem to have just disappeared.

The road surface around the traffic island in front of the Sree Mulam Club is so bad that there are many who wonder whether it will ever become normal again.

Regular leaks in the drinking water pipelines at this point only worsen the condition of the road here.
