A dance drama

Bangalore: This celebration may not be at the stroke of midnight, but Vyjayanthi Kashi’s troupe, Shambhavi Dance Ensemble, is presenting Veera Bharathi, a dance drama portraying our country’s journey to freedom.

Veena Bharathi is an endeavour to discover the spirit of our country and the sacrifices of freedom fighters such as Lakshmi Bai, Tipu Sultan, Lokamanya Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi and so on.

The production was first presented on the eve of 50 years of India’s independence.

This time round, the venue is the Jnanabharathi Auditorium, Bangalore University Campus. The performance will be held on August 15, 7 p.m.
