A bitter experience

The inaugural function of a multi-purpose sports complex at Shaikpet, developed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, witnessed some intense moments.

While GHMC officials, Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and Minister for BC Welfare M. Mukesh Goud were expecting a smooth affair, the local leaders and residents of Shaikpet had other plans.

It was as if they were waiting for an opportunity to vent their pent-up anger because of several pending developmental works. “Before coming here, you should have done your home work. We have been telling you about our problems since one year and you have not done anything. Please come to our colonies the next time by doing some homework,” was the common refrain among residents.

Although a bitter one, the Shaikpet experience must definitely have put GHMC officials on a good stead in dealing with such situations in the near future.
