TTD prescribes dress code for temple staff
Special Correspondent
TIRUPATI: The various developmental works currently under way to augment the pilgrim amenities at Tirumala and Tirupati were reviewed at a high-level official meeting convened by the TTD’s Executive Officer, K.V. Ramanachari on Thursday. One of the major decisions taken at the meeting was to prescribe dress code especially to the staff working in the TTD temples. The EO wanted that those working in the temples must put on white clothes, those in the public health wing should wear khaki and that the ‘vahanam bearers’ must sport the traditional green garments.
Ramanachari wanted all the engineering works to be speeded completed before the ensuing brahmothsavams. It was also decided to install 62 inches plasma TVs replacing the small ones in order to help the waiting pilgrims watch the various rituals beamed through the CC-TV system.
